A Brief OverviewRadiologic Technologist perform radiographic procedures at a technical level requiring sound understanding of anatomical positioning and physiology; a high degree of technical competency and with the ability to act with initiative and ingenuity with minimal supervision. Apply ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis in adult and/or pediatric radiology. Employees in this position will be responsible for inpatient on-call and shift rotation.
What you will do- Provide excellent patient care by educating and preparing patients for their procedure while utilizing effective communication.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety for the duration of their procedure.
- Obtain and document accurate patient medical history to assist radiologist's interpretation.
- Position and instruct patient while utilizing protective shielding, immobilization, and supportive devices as required.
- Perform standard diagnostic radiographic procedures as required by physician's order.
- Perform a variety of diagnostic procedures to include but not limited to fluoroscopy, C-arm in the Operating Room, digital and mobile imaging at applicable locations.
- Select proper exposure factors of radiographic equipment for each examination.
- Completion of exam in hospital information system.
- Cleaning and maintaining all imaging equipment.
- May also assist with mentoring and/or training students, new hires.
Education Qualifications- Associate's Degree from an approved Radiologic Technology program Required
Experience Qualifications- Minimum of one (1) year Radiologic Technology experience Preferred
Skills and Abilities- Understand and utilize ALARA concepts and critical thinking
- Time management
- Effective communication.
Licenses and Certifications- Radiography - American Registry Radiologic Technologist Required
- Radiography - South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association Required
- Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire. Recertification every two year Required
