At the administrative direction of the Radiology Manager and the clinical direction of the Radiologist/Team Leader, independently performs all exams without supervision within the section. Serves as a positive role model and collaborates effectively with departmental personnel.
Responsibilities - Operates all imaging equipment units, including X-Ray, Mammography, and Bone Density, ensuring high-quality, safe, and efficient procedures.
- Reviews requisitions to determine proper setup and radiation doses; studies views required based on patient anatomy and performs examinations.
- Evaluates diagnostic films for quality, repeating unsuitable films as necessary.
- Performs quality control procedures on imaging and ancillary equipment to ensure compliance with federal and Joint Commission standards.
- Trains employees and students in daily procedures.
- Collaborates and communicates regularly with other divisions and departments to facilitate patient access and scheduling of exams.
- Demonstrates competency in RIS, CIS, PACS, and other imaging-related computer systems.
- Participates in continuing education activities as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications and Specifications Requires an Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology and at least six months of related experience or equivalent. CPR Certification and ARRT certification are required.
