Must be able to work additional hours as needed. Mowing/Construction Crew: Non-Rotating Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm Sanitation Crew: Non-Rotating Tuesday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm & Saturday 6:00am - 2:30pm Sunday - Thursday, 7:00am - 3:30pm Tourist District: Rotating (1st week) Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm (2nd week) Tues/Wed/Thurs/Sat/Sun, 7:00am - 3:30pm Bayfront: Rotating (1st week) Tues/Wed/Thurs/Sat/Sun, 7:00am - 3:30pm (2nd week) Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm North Beach: Non-Rotating Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon/Tues, 11:30am - 8:00pm Who May Apply? All persons legally authorized to work in the United States Overview The objective of this position is to maintain and mow the City of Corpus Christi's developed parkland, facilities, right of ways, and beaches. Responsibilities and Duties Tasks will include litter and debris clean up, painting, planting, pruning, graffiti removal, public restroom maintenance, and special event set up Operation of outdoor power equipment and power tools Assist with irrigation repairs, maintenance of water features and maintenance of playground equipment Requires operation of pickup trucks with trailers, motor vehicles and utility vehicles Must complete daily work reports verifying time, equipment and material use May be asked to perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Six (6) months to One (1) year of work experience Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds to move and deliver work material Must be able to walk for long periods and distances Must be able to work safely outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions Must be able to work around plant material such as trees, shrubs, bushes and grass Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel and climb to perform various maintenance functions Certifications, Licenses or Other Requirements: A valid driver's license is required Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire Other Information: Benefits The City offers an excellent benefit package that includes: Texas Municipal Retirement System - TMRS is a required retirement plan for all full time employees. Each employee automatically contributes 6% of their total compensation and will increase to 7% effective January 1, 2019. The City will match employee contributions 2 to 1 during retirement.
