RACF Engineer, Mainframe Identity Administrator
Pay Rate: Open to W2 and C2C Options
Position Type: Multiyear Contract
Requirements
Responsible for managing and maintaining the security of the mainframe environment by utilizing RACF (Resource Access Control Facility) technology, ensuring proper user access controls, and overseeing the identity management processes on the mainframe systems, all while adhering to strict compliance standards.
• Configure and manage RACF security profiles, including user IDs, groups, and access controls for various mainframe applications and systems.
• Implement and enforce RACF security policies to protect sensitive data on the mainframe.
• Monitor RACF logs for suspicious activity and investigate potential security breaches.
• Perform regular RACF security reviews and audits to identify and address vulnerabilities.
• Manage user provisioning and deprovisioning on the mainframe, ensuring accurate access levels for employees and authorized users.
• Synchronize user identities between the mainframe and other enterprise systems using identity management tools.
• Review and approve access requests based on established security policies.
• Understand z/OS operating system and its security features to effectively administer RACF.
• Troubleshoot RACF issues and provide technical support for mainframe users.
• Stay updated on latest RACF security best practices and implement necessary updates.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external security regulations related to mainframe access controls.
• Collaborate with audit teams to provide necessary documentation and support for mainframe security assessments.
• In-depth knowledge of RACF security features and administration on IBM z/OS platform.
• Familiarity with mainframe system commands and utilities (TSO, ISPF, JCL)
• Understanding of identity management principles and best practices
• Strong understanding of security concepts like access control, least privilege, and data protection.
• Ability to identify and mitigate security risks within the mainframe environment
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues related to RACF and mainframe security
• Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to explain security policies and procedures.
