POSITION OVERVIEW Perform all activities and duties associated with the Research Tech 1 role Ensure the irrigation system is correctly programmed and operational by checking Priva Verify that the correct lighting program is active on GrowWise/signify, including setting the appropriate signify program and conducting light mapping Collaborate with Tech 3 or crop specialists to determine the most effective methods for executing trial-specific tasks and oversee the team responsible for these tasks Manage the day-to-day operations of research trials, including system maintenance and plant care. Plant care tasks encompass irrigation scheduling, mixing fertilizer, pollination, harvesting, pruning, seeding, transplanting, and pest monitoring Record any changes in data sheets and communicate these changes to the lead crop specialist and Tech 3 Handle data management tasks, including detailed observations on data sheets and data collection as needed Operate, calibrate, and maintain lab equipment such as probes, data loggers, sensors, imaging stations, humidifiers, de-humidifiers, lights, environmental growth chambers, CO2 equipment, and scales Demonstrate proficiency with lab equipment through reading manuals and hands-on experience Meet with Tech 3 to discuss future trial plans Update pre/post-operation forms Perform other duties as assigned Specialized Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Adaptability to fast pace environment and quickly evolving processes Detail and quality oriented Qualifications Basic computer proficiency Ability to operate machinery, use a ladder, & lift 50 lbs Agriculture, science, and/or production background a plus Ability to work weekends, as needed BENEFITS WE OFFER YOU Health, dental, and vision insurance starting day one of employment health insurance plans start at just $25/month Two weeks paid vacation One week paid health & wellness time 10 paid holidays Parental leave 401k with up to 4% Company match Annual tuition reimbursement Company-paid life insurance Short and long-term disability insurance ABOUT OUR HIRING PRACTICES Statistics show that underrepresented communities don't apply for a job unless they meet 100% of the qualifications.
