Are you an experienced R&D Engineer with a desire to excel? If so, then Talent Software Services may have the job for you. Our client is seeking an experienced R&D Engineer to work at their company in Maple Grove, MN.


Position Summary: We are looking for a motivated, collaborative, and creative individual to join our high-performing Process Development team. You will have the opportunity to drive innovative technology solutions from concept to commercialization. You will be partnering cross-functionally with a technically strong, experienced, and highly engaged team.


Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Highly measurement/inspection-focused role within injection molding group
  • Work directly with our injection molding team to develop and implement inspection plans for a wide array of medical device parts and prototypes. Moreover, the candidate may own injection molding development and process validations.
  • Program many measurement/inspection systems, including Keyence IM, Keyence LM, Keyence VR, Keyence VK, Smartscope, and Hexagon/Zeiss CMM
  • Develop inspection methods, document test methods, and validate those test methods.
  • Own and drive technical development of measurement equipment needs for the future growth of the injection molding group.
  • Designed inspection fixtures using Solidworks.
  • Develop experimental strategy and present technical data and recommendations at technical reviews.
  • Analyze data using Minitab and document in technical reports.
  • Troubleshoot existing inspection methods/programs.
  • Collaborate & partner with R&D to develop product concepts, influence design specifications, and provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to the engineering print package.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop capable processes and complex measurement technologies on new products and ensure efficient and effective transfer of product into production.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a relevant technical field

Preferred:

  • 3 years of experience
  • Experienced programming measurement equipment, including Keyence, OGP, Zeiss, and/or Hexagon.
  • Demonstrated understanding and usage of statistics to drive improvements.
  • Demonstrated understanding of problem-solving and root cause investigations.
  • Experience with test method validations and/or process validation.
  • Medical device or other regulated industry experience.
  • Excel in a collaborative, cross-site environment.
  • Expertise in Operations or New Product Development.
  • Demonstrated cross-functional teamwork in a technical environment.
  • Open to travel of up to 10% of their time.
