We are seeking a
Quote & Application Specialist to join our team in
Duncan, SC. After gaining knowledge of our environment, there is the opportunity for this position to work under our Hybrid schedule working both in the office and remotely.
The Quote & Application Specialist will interact with the Commercial, Customer Service, Engineering, and Sales team to best position AFL, from a pricing and product offering to secure business. This will be accomplished by gathering market intelligence, technical data, and understanding current pricing trends to enable the most competitive quote package to be offered. This position will be integral to the organization in efficiently providing timely quote responses leading to a better-quality customer experience. Assignments may also include technical support and providing training on products.
Responsibilities - Demonstrate sound judgement in conducting market and cost analysis necessary to determine an acceptable quoting price to include review of RFQ, product identification, review of existing agreements, gathering data on historical price and history at account, adjusting price and lead time when needed.
- Managing and responding to the complete RFQ process on major projects to include quote preparation, gathering data for the technical response, and processing the commercial needs.
- Developing the technical skills necessary to select the appropriate part to quote based on RFQ product description alone and with minimal support from the technical group normally responsible for this task.
- Analyzing RFQs to identify additional sales where applicable and take actions needed to solicit and record quote feedback data.
- Become adept in the systems required to quote and discover areas of lost efficiency then work with appropriate department to recover efficiency.
- Provide pre - and post - technical support to sales, customer service representatives and customers
- Conduct product training both internally for company associates and externally for customers, sales agents, and representatives
- Create documents for new product introductions, installation instructions, application notes and product specification guidelines
- Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Sound Commercial sense and understanding
- Familiarity with recognized business software platforms. Salesforce and Oracle experience is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding time management skills.
- Experience or knowledge of fiber optics, experience in a manufacturing environment, and mechanical aptitude are all considered a plus
- General hours of Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5 pm but available to work before 8 am and beyond 5:00 pm as needed.
- Willingness to travel up to 15%
