Our client is seeking a motivated and ambitious Quantitative Analyst to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate or someone with 1-2 years of experience who is eager to learn and grow in the financial services industry. The role involves working with securities pricing activities and data management in a non-client facing capacity.
This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Rate: $25- $30 / hr. w2
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide securities pricing activities via third-party vendors for client portfolio valuation under minimal supervision.
- Perform reviews of moderately complex validation breaks and resolve issues in a deadline-driven environment using software such as Eagle, MS Excel, and MS Teams.
- Compile, synthesize, and report on BNY's or market data sources; support access, maintenance, and security activities.
- Manage moderately complex databases and data feeds, assisting with data sources.
- Conduct preliminary calculations for senior colleagues and help develop reports.
- Interpret findings and prepare initial drafts of standard reports.
- Work with internal and external datasets and client reference data to provide analysis in market development for securities data.
- Apply techniques such as querying to extract data for analysis.
- Track vendor file delivery and resolve client inquiries related to process fail points.
- Utilize third-party vendors such as Bloomberg, ICE, and Reuters for research, validation, and break resolution.
Requirements:
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to escalate issues in a timely manner.
- Experience with Excel, including macros and low coding.
- Experience from an internship in finance, loans, mortgage, or related fields.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Experience in data management and financial services.
- Familiarity with portfolios/securities and data validation/day-over-day changes.
Required Software/Technology:
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
- Proficiency in MS Teams and Outlook for communication.
- Experience with web-based applications and programs.
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of relevant experience or recent college graduate with relevant internship experience.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
