Description Job Summary: Lead the Quality department in day-to-day inspection activities. Validated machined product production setup on CMM and pull/validate/calibrate gages for production. Duties Run CMM for the machined component inspection daily to ensure production is approved per customer requirements and standards. Manage and work through AMI's gage calibration program both internally and for externally provided service. Develop and implement plans for continuous improvement Identify quality-related training needs and coordinate training activities with the HR Department Plan, conduct, and participate in root cause analysis of product defects. Ensure key processes followed in accordance with ISO and company standards. Provide feedback policies and procedures related to quality control programs, inspection methods, devices and control techniques. Maintain effective relationships with Engineering and Manufacturing personnel to resolve problems relative to product designs, specifications, materials, tooling, and production operations affecting quality. Communicate with internal departments to ensure the execution of corrective actions and compliance with customer specifications. Coordinate PPAP process and documentation for new project launches or as required. Maintain environmental tracking related to ISO 14001 Maintain a digital SPC database to ensure conformity to inspections. Create, issue, and perform inspections on the CMM. Establish development, succession, and contingency plans for self and direct coworkers. Participate in internal QMS audits in accordance with ISO 9001 and company standards. Requirements Experience 1-year prior experience in Quality Assurance for consumer product manufacturer. Experience working in a digital workspace. (ERP Systems, inspection software, SPC software) PC-DMIS experience a plus Knowledge and experience with ISO standards. (Internal auditor experience a plus) Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills. CMM experience preferred. Machining Blueprint reading experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred. Experience in quality management systems. Experience in quality system audits preferred. Willingness to continually embrace personal and professional development. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, bend and reach above shoulders. The employee frequently is required to use hands to manipulate objects, tools or controls; and talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in the typical conditions of a manufacturing environment including seasonal variation in temperatures. The employee must comply with PPE requirements including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing and shields for required tasks and steel toed safety shoes.
