Description

Quality Technician / CMM Programmer Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and execute CMM programs for inspecting production materials and components .
  • Review blueprints and specifications to establish accurate inspection criteria .
  • Perform dimensional inspections and compile First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) .
  • Assist in problem-solving and quality assurance processes, including gauge studies and GR&R .
  • Ensure gauges are calibrated and verified as per schedule and gauge control procedures .
  • Participate in the APQP process, especially in gauge and fixture design .
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks and troubleshoot QC inspection equipment .
  • Train and develop less experienced staff in CMM programming and measurement skills .
  • Prepare data for PPAP submissions and maintain documentation records .
  • Implement and recommend quality control solutions to improve inspection processes and reduce cycle time .

Profile

Successful Quality Technician:

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in CMM Programming roles
  • Proficiency in CMM programming softwares
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications, including GD&T
  • Experience in quality control procedures, including gauge studies and GR&R
  • Skilled in using micrometers, calipers, depth micrometers, and other inspection tools
  • Ability to assist in problem-solving, data analysis, and implementing corrective actions
  • Capable of performing preventive maintenance on CMMs and ensuring calibration of gauges
  • Experience in training and developing less experienced staff in CMM programming and measurement skills
  • Highly precise and detail-oriented in measurements and documentation management
