Job Summary:The Quality Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing quality control programs to ensure that all construction activities meet or exceed industry standards, contractual requirements, and regulatory compliance. This role will work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to enforce best practices and drive continuous improvement in construction quality.
Key Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and oversee the company's Quality Management System.
Establish and maintain quality control procedures, inspection protocols, and testing methodologies.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
Work collaboratively with project teams to resolve quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.
Review project plans, specifications, and submittals to ensure adherence to quality standards.
Train staff and subcontractors on quality assurance procedures and best practices.
Maintain documentation and records of inspections, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and regulatory agencies to address quality concerns.
Lead root cause analysis for quality issues and drive process improvements.
Stay up to date on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in quality management practices.
Qualifications & Requirements:Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in quality management within the construction industry, preferably with a general contractor.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required based on experience).
Strong knowledge of construction quality standards, building codes, and regulatory compliance.
Experience with QA/QC programs, ISO standards, and industry best practices.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and leadership abilities to work effectively with teams and stakeholders.
Proficiency in construction management software and reporting tools.
Projects are local to the Chicagoland area with overnight travel 4 -o 5 days per year for training/conferences.
