We are looking for a Quality Manager to join our team, responsible for ensuring that the quality and safety of our products meet the highest company, customer, and regulatory standards.
- requires strong leadership skills to manage and support the Quality Assurance (QA) team, develop and implement quality systems, and maintain certifications like BRC and HACCP. You will be instrumental in preparing for and managing FDA, military, and third-party audits, while also ensuring environmental and sanitation programs meet the highest standards.
- leading and training the QA team, ensuring all testing procedures for raw materials, in-process, and finished goods are followed accurately. Your leadership will guide quality technicians in maintaining product consistency, adhering to company, customer, and regulatory guidelines.
- Implementing and overseeing the Food Safety Plan and ensuring it aligns with BRC requirements.
- manage the Environmental Monitoring and Sanitation Programs. You will coordinate with third-party sanitation companies, address any concerns, and ensure compliance with FDA, military, and local health department guidelines. Additionally, you will oversee corrective actions for any environmental testing results that fall outside of acceptable limits, and continuously look for areas to improve.
- ensure the company's products meet the necessary standards for certifications such as Gluten-Free and MSC/ASC.
- Provide guidance on nutritional facts panels, ingredient statements, and label claims.
- manage documentation, including regular HACCP reviews and managing the company's document control system.
REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a quality assurance role in a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Certifications in HACCP and PCQI are required, along with extensive knowledge of GFSI, BRC, and regulatory requirements.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, move about the production floor, and work in refrigerated or freezing environments.
- You should be comfortable with fine motor skills required for laboratory tests, distinguishing products by label colors, and navigating wet, slippery floors.
