Description
The Quality Manager (Aerospace) will:
- Lead and mentor a team of Quality Engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Oversee and enhance the electronic Quality Management System (eQMS).
- Develop and manage an internal audit program to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and process validation.
- Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to resolve quality challenges and improve productivity.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, and FAA regulations.
- Track and report key quality metrics to support company-wide performance goals.
- Implement and sustain FMEA, PPAP/APQP methodologies.
- Lead initiatives to optimize quality processes and enhance manufacturing efficiency.
- Support certification efforts and regulatory audits.
- Utilize data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Minitab) to drive decision-making.
- Promote strategic problem-solving and technical leadership within the quality function at the Queens, NY facility.
Profile
The successful Quality Manager (Aerospace) applicant will have:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 5-8 years of experience in Quality Engineering within a regulated industry.
- 1-3 years of leadership experience, mentoring and developing engineering teams.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, with experience in AS9100 and AS13100 preferred.
- Experience implementing and managing an electronic Quality Management System (eQMS), preferably Intellect QMS.
- Proficiency in auditing, process validation, and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Knowledge of FMEA, PPAP/APQP, and other quality assurance processes.
- Certifications such as CQE, CQA, or Six Sigma are a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and strategic decision-making skills.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Minitab experience is a plus.
- Ability to manage compliance with industry and regulatory requirements at the Bronx, NY facility.
