Description As a
Quality Inspector at Impulse, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that every component, system, and process involved in building spacecraft & engine hardware meets our rigorous standards for spaceflight.
Responsibilities - Provide detailed in-process inspections on spacecraft & engine hardware (electrical, mechanical, propulsion) assemblies, using detailed drawings, CAD models, and established processes to verify conformance to design requirements
- Work alongside CMM programmers, performing final inspection
- Identify, document, and resolve production and test anomalies in accordance with prescribed procedures and pursue corrective action as required
- Communicate and help resolve quality related issues as they relate to the specific engineering departments
- Document production non-conformances in accordance with prescribed procedures and processes as required
- Support quality management system policies and procedure documentation, assess compliance to company and industry standards, initiate and lead continual improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives
Minimum Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 4+ years of inspection experience in an aerospace, aviation, military or manufacturing environment
Preferred Skills and Experience - 6+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience with spaceflight hardware
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience working with metrology or CMM hardware
- Experience with quality assurance principles, methods, and processes
- Demonstrated experience working with electrical, mechanical, structural, or propulsion assemblies
- Experience with performing electronic testing and inspections using portable measuring devices
- Strong understanding of safety programs and OSHA regulations and requirements
- Practical experience working within quality management systems (AS9100 and ISO 9001)
Additional Information: Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity.
