Job Title: Quality Inspector
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
Schedule: Mon - Fri 8-4:30
Position Overview:
Reports to the Quality Supervisor.
Offers inspection support for both Receiving and Final inspection, including month-end shipments as needed.
Inspects product by means of manual layout, caliper and micrometer checks, plug and pin gage inspection, etc., with proficiency.
Performs tasks using Windows-based software such as Excel and Word.
Evaluates product compliance through proper understanding of blueprints and GD&T.
Please note that certain duties performed by this role require this position to be subject to the guidelines of our Repair Station Certificate and are subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing.
In this function, you will:
Provide inspection support for both Receiving and Final Inspection.
Inspect product per blueprint requirements in accordance with the current quality procedures.
Evaluate product compliance through a thorough understanding of industry specifications, blueprint reading, and GD&T.
Prepare and complete First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102 requirements.
Conduct Assembly Floor Layer Process Audits as well as 5S audits to ensure a safe and productive working environment focused on producing quality product.
Support is needed to meet our customer demands at the month end.
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
Must have two (2) years experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Must have a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent from an Accredited Institution.
Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
This position requires the use of information or access to hardware, which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.
Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Grand Rapids, Michigan, will be considered.
Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience evaluates product compliance through a thorough understanding of industry specifications, blueprint reading, and GD&T.
Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection.
Position Criteria:
Experience with software packages (e.g., Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Access, Outlook, SharePoint, and PowerPoint Point, etc.)
Ability to read, understand, and follow product specifications, drawings, and work orders in English
