An established organization in the aerospace industry and is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to support ongoing growth and quality initiatives at its Indianapolis-area facility. This position plays a critical role in driving both product and process quality in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.


The ideal candidate will be motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced in supporting compliance with AS9100/ISO 9001 standards, while working cross-functionally to deliver continuous improvement and exceptional quality outcomes.


What you will be doing as a Quality Engineer:



  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance standards, procedures, and metrics for aerospace components and systems

  • Support AS9100/ISO 9001 compliance, internal audits, and regulatory requirements

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to resolve quality issues

  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions (RCA & CAPA)

  • Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and support Material Review Board (MRB) activities

  • Analyze quality data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvement

  • Interface with customers and suppliers to address quality concerns and requirements

  • Support additional quality documentation including PPAP, FMEA, and control plans


What you will need as a Quality Engineer:



  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field preferred.

  • 25 years of experience in a Quality Engineering role within the Aerospace sector preferred.

  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001 preferred.

  • Proficient in root cause analysis and quality tools (8D, Fishbone, 5 Whys)

  • Familiarity with inspection techniques, measurement tools, and GD&T

  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

High growth precision machining company with a heavy focus on the aerospace and automotive sectors with several openings on their Indianapolis based team for Quality Inspectors.
These roles are responsible for collaborating with Quality Engineers to ensure quality standards are met, as well as ensuring compliance with customer specifications.


Quality Inspector Roles and Responsibilities:



  • Collaborate with Quality Engineers to prepare First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR).

  • Utilize hand tools and measuring devices (e.g., optical comparators, ohm meters, CMMs, dial calipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometers, other gauges) to check dimensional characteristics.

  • Ensure FAIR approval by the customer and communicate with Production and Quality representatives throughout the process.

  • Handle customer returns and work with Quality Engineers to initiate return investigations.

  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Use proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures as required.


Quality Inspector Required Qualifications:



  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.

  • 5 years of inspection experience in manufacturing.

  • Proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Office, ERP systems, etc.).

  • Clear, professional, and tactful communication skills.
