Job Details:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Hydrologist to join our client's dynamic Civil Engineering & Design team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in conducting hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and studies, floodplain mapping, drainage system design, and erosion and sediment control plans. This position is a permanent role, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a broad range of projects, including dam and reservoir, bridge hydraulics, and storm sewer design. You will be working with a team of skilled professionals who are passionate about their work and committed to delivering high-quality solutions for our clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-GeoRAS, and HPSWMM.
  • Develop and review floodplain mapping using ArcGIS.
  • Design and implement drainage systems, erosion and sediment control plans using Civil3D and AutoCAD.
  • Prepare and review NPDES/MS4 permit applications and compliance reports.
  • Perform dam and reservoir, bridge hydraulics, culvert, and storm sewer design.
  • Coordinate with FEMA, USACE, and other regulatory agencies for LOMR, CLOMR, LOMA, LOMA-F applications.
  • Provide technical support for flood risk management, flood forecasting, and flood warning systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in hydrology and hydraulics.
  • Proficiency in FEMA and USACE-accepted software applications including HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-GeoRAS, HPSWMM, Civil3D, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS.
  • Experience in floodplain mapping, drainage, erosion and sediment control plans.
  • Knowledge of NPDES/MS4, dam and reservoir, bridge hydraulics, LOMR, CLOMR, LOMA, LOMA-F, culvert, and storm sewer.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification is a plus.
