Volt is immediately hiring Quality Control Inspector in Clifton, NJ

As a Quality Control Inspector you will be:
  • Responsible for the identification and documentation of quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Facilitates the implementation of standards, methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision, accuracy and reliability of company products.
  • Leads the preparation and execution of internal audits within established manufacturing and production controls to ensure compliance with internal and external specifications and standards.
  • Liaises with auditing groups and inspectors to develop formal written reports, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Identifies trends in discrepancies and collaborates with process owners on the refinement and optimization of business processes.
  • Oversees testing department activities and work of inspectors. Reviews, approves, and controls work order flow tags.
  • Develops inspection techniques, tools, and supplemental inspection instructions in support of standards, methods and procedures.
  • Participates in supplier corrective and preventative actions, including: customer escapes, process nonconformities, supplier corrective actions, customer and change control, and material review board meetings.
  • Intermediate professional with practical knowledge of job area.
  • Works under moderate supervision to set objectives for own job area.
  • Communicates with contacts inside and outside own team to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures Identifies and addresses changes within own job area.
  • Works to achieve operational targets with some impact on departmental results.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Familiarization working in an ESD environment
  • 3-5 years of previous inspection experience
  • Must have ability to read and understand complex mechanical assembly drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and Engineering sketches, and the ability to read and write in English.
  • Must have a working understanding of print structures to determine as built vs. as designed configurations.
  • Must be able to use instruments such as verniers, micrometers, and height gages to measure and evaluate parts dimensions.
  • Also requires ability to use computers and microscopes.
  • Candidates with a military background work out well in this environment.
  • Working Knowledge of GDMT.
  • General understanding of IPC Standards.


This is a 12 Month full time Contract or Contract to hire opportunity.

Pay Range :
$28.00 - $31 per hour.

Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
