Quality Assurance Technician (Industrial Machinery Mfg - mechanical pipe joining solutions)

Location: West Jordan, UT (On-site)

Pay: $25-$28 per hour

Schedule: Full Time Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM-4:30 PM


MUST HAVES:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to use tape measures, calipers, pi tapes, and to read blueprints
  • Experience in a manufacturing or steel fabrication environment required

STRONGLY PREFERRED:

  • Working knowledge of arc welding (carbon, stainless, and alloy metals) preferred
  • Familiarity with liquid and powder coating processes is a plus
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints desired

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the maintenance and development of the inspection program
  • Conduct inspections of incoming materials, in-process production, final products, and outgoing materials
  • Perform tests on cement linings and coatings when new lot numbers are received
  • Visually inspect welded joints (weld size, bead formation, weld penetration) for compliance
  • Record and document all inspections through proper reports and logs
  • Calibrate inspection instruments and gauges and maintain calibration records
  • Review material test reports (MTRs) as needed
  • Assist in preparing QC documentation for customer review
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineering, and quality teams to address quality issues

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a manufacturing or steel fabrication environment required
  • Ability to use tape measures, calipers, pi tapes, and to read blueprints required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of arc welding (carbon, stainless, and alloy metals) preferred
  • Familiarity with liquid and powder coating processes is a plus
  • Ability to physically perform testing procedures: dye-penetrant, magnetic particle, dry film thickness, etc.
  • Skilled in using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers preferred
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints desired
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
