The Quality Assurance Supervisor understand the Food Safety Statement, complete the required training, perform work assignments in accordance with training and display an acceptable level of competency with all Quality Assurance/Safety/Security policies and training requirements. Areas of food safety training will include, but are not limited to, GMP, Food Safety Plan, Listeria, Food Safety and Quality Statement, FSSC 22000/Global Food Safety Policy/Food Safety Goals, Visitor/Food/Site Security, Emergency Preparedness, and Blood borne Pathogens. Some additional items will include: GLP's, Equipment Calibration, Hold/Release, QRT, and Food Safety Incident Reporting.

The individual must also request additional and/or refresher training if he or she feels that it is needed to effectively perform requirements in specific areas of responsibility.

Summary:

The QA Supervisor shift starts at 4pm is responsible for developing, administering, and maintaining Food Safety and Quality programs that assure the production of high quality, safe products.

Job Function Statements - Essential Functions:

Supervise, train and develop QA Assistant Supervisors, QA Technicians / Inspectors and Micro Lab Technician to assure compliance to all company, customer quality and food safety requirements

Effectively coach and drive performance and improvements of QA Assistant Supervisors, QA Technicians / Inspectors and Micro Lab Technician

Address performance issues of QA personnel using Fresh Express HR guidelines

Audit compliance to food safety requirements

Carry out root cause analysis and drive sustained improvement at production level

Instill a culture of operational discipline, accuracy and compliance

Prepare and conduct trainings on a range of topics (job specific or other mandatory trainings) for employees at different levels of the organization

Ensure that QA department employees are trained in and obey Fresh Express's safety rules while carrying out their duties

Attain established yearly company goals, departmental goals and personal goals

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

B.S. in food science, science, or technical discipline

One to three years' minimum experience in a Quality Assurance function

Strong technical knowledge of food processing

Strong oral and written communication skills

Proficiency in computer usage (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Flexible to work Monday through Saturday

Bilingual English/Spanish and/or English/Polish

Experience with FSSC 22000 or equivalent system

Previous experience in food manufacturing
