Quality Assurance Supervisor (QAS)
Description
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our team. The Quality Assurance Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of quality control and assurance within our organization. This role is in support of the California Wildfire Debris Removal mission for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE or Government).
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance methodologies, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with team members across various departments. As a Quality Assurance Supervisor, you will lead a team of quality assurance specialists, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure that all quality standards are met. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance policies and procedures, as well as continuously improving existing processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
You must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be required to interact with team members at all levels of the organization, as well as external stakeholders such as suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies. In addition to technical expertise, we are seeking a candidate who demonstrates strong leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and inspire team members, foster a positive work environment, and promote a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
Responsibilities
The QAS is responsible for the on-site management and supervision of a team of up to 25 Contractor QARs.
The QAS provides oversight, safety training, and guidance to QARs while ensuring proper documentation procedures are followed.
They must be thoroughly familiar with contract requirements, quality assurance tracking, and documentation standards used by USACE.
The QAS ensures compliance with contract specifications, safety regulations (EM 385-1-1), and established construction practices.
The QAS must understand various contract formats, including equipment rental and unit price contracts. Equipment rental contracts require detailed tracking of equipment operation hours, labor hours, standby time, and downtime, as well as direction from the Corps on the scope of work to be performed.
The QAS is expected to operate independently with minimal supervision, providing leadership and support to the QA team. Additionally, the QAS will work closely with the Government to address and resolve any issues that arise during the execution of work, ensuring contract compliance and project success.
Requirements
Bachelors degree in quality management, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control.
Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and standards.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proven leadership and team management experience.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Salary: $45.75/hour plus $5.36/hour (Cash in Lieu of Benefits)
Location: The work to be performed under this contract will take place within Los Angeles County, specifically at Palisades, Eaton, and the landfill. The work falls within the geographical boundaries of the USACE Los Angeles District.
