We are seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Manager for our Woodland, CA location. This role is responsible for leading food safety, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance programs to ensure our products meet the highest industry standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Implement, maintain, and enforce food safety and quality policies in compliance with FDA, USDA, FSMA, GFSI, HACCP, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a food safety culture throughout the organization.
  • Serve as the primary contact for quality-related audits, certifications, and regulatory inspections.
  • Investigate, report, and respond to customer complaints, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Work with suppliers to verify and validate corrective actions, conducting domestic and international supplier audits as needed.
  • Maintain an audit schedule for all facilities supplying materials to the North American region.
  • Support R&D efforts in developing new products, blends, and flavor profiles.
  • Oversee the creation and validation of product specifications, nutritional data, and testing protocols.
  • Approve customer quality documentation and ensure compliance with all food safety standards.
  • Lead and develop the QA/QC team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive quality initiatives.
  • Maintain and update HACCP plans, ensuring all suppliers comply with food safety standards.
  • Stay ahead of emerging food safety regulations and industry trends, providing guidance to internal teams.
  • Oversee the development of technical documentation, including nutritional and chemical requirements.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or Food Safety within the food or beverage industry.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, FSMA, GFSI, FDA, USDA, and food safety regulations.
  • Experience conducting audits (domestic & international) and working with suppliers on corrective actions.
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel domestically & internationally, sometimes on short notice.
