Quality Assurance Lead Location: Management - Waupun, WI Eagle Flexible Packaging is seeking a Quality Assurance Lead who will contribute to the continued success and growth of Eagle as a go-to leader within Quality Assurance Department, auditing the work of others, providing training, delegating responsibilities, and liaising with other departments. The Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations in the areas of product quality and reliability and maintaining Quality Assurance documentation and files. The Quality Assurance Lead is a leader in using quality techniques to track, analyze and report on materials, processes, and products to ensure they meet Eagle's quality standards and customer specifications. In addition to their leadership role in the Quality Assurance Department, the Quality Assurance Lead has responsibilities for directly managing the Quality program in the Press and Laminating Departments, including performing critical checks and audits as well as establishing procedures. The Quality Assurance Lead is expected to be a safety champion with the possibility of gaining additional safety-related responsibilities as the safety program grows. Currently hiring for 1st shift (Monday-Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm). Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Lead all Quality staff in day-to-day responsibilities. Develop daily work plans for Quality Assurance Technician and Inspectors, communicating and delegating responsibilities. Work plans must ensure that there is 100% Quality Assurance coverage throughout all production run times. Act as first point of contact regarding all Quality / Press Room issues on the production floor, promptly addressing and escalating all issues as appropriate. Assist decisions on "GO" or "NO GO" when quality issues on machines arise. Train Quality Assurance Technician and Inspectors in procedures, work instructions, inspection techniques, laboratory testing, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Food Safety Program related responsibilities. Establish and document flexographic process control data. Oversee the documentation of production issues, including material problems, down-time, and plate-related problems. Update and maintain data in spec folders. Perform regular quality checks for both start-up approvals and in-process jobs, including Green Bond testing and logging of results. Develop, maintain, and log all first run samples and family colors. Work with Quality Assurance team members to complete job approval checklists. Oversee the creation and revision of Quality documentation. Oversee the inspection of all inbound raw and outsourced material. Lead and participate in Quality Assurance audits. Assist in the development of standard safety processes and programs. Participate in all research related to and purchases of new lab equipment. As needed and as directed by management, work with customers on quality related issues. Conduct anilox roll audits. Participate in press profiling. Ensure that all company food safety and quality assurance procedures are always followed. Escalate any issues/concerns to management. Maintain and organize the Quality Lab and Quarantine Hold Area. Other related duties as assigned. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Relevant quality experience, including knowledge of various quality assurance testing methods, including destructive (functional), in-process (attribute & variable), and controlled; proficient in the use of relevant testing equipment and measuring devices. Strong leadership aptitude, including ability to train and motivate team members as well as effectively plan and delegate responsibilities. Comprehensive understanding of the Quality expectations, tolerances, and acceptable defect rates. Quality critical, continuous improvement, and detail-oriented mindset - able to see the big picture and understand the importance of each step in the quality process. Proactive mindset with ability to take initiative. Effective problem-solving skills with willingness to ask questions about processes and procedures. Professional proficiency in verbal and written English, including ability to efficiently and professionally communicate issues appropriately when they arise and properly document in-process and completed work. Demonstrated sense of personal accountability. Excellent work ethic with inquisitive mindset, persistence, and willingness to advance knowledge base. Excellent organization and time management skills, including ability to prioritize and troubleshoot in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Basic computer software skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel as well as ability to learn new programs. Must have excellent color perception and be able see with or without corrective lenses. Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time and lift 50 pounds or more. Must be able to stoop, kneel, and climb a ladder and stairs. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a pressroom, including comprehensive understanding of Flexographic printing and color management. Experience in the flexible packaging industry. Experience in a Quality Assurance leadership role. Bilingual in English/Spanish. Additional Information: A willingness and ability to occasionally flex one's schedule will be needed at times in order to meet business needs and support direct reports on different shifts. Eagle provides its employees with a 100% match up to 1% and 50% match up to 6%. Company Paid Short Term Disability - The Short Term Disability premium is 100% paid by Eagle. Company Paid Long Term Disability - The Long Term Disability premium is 100% paid by Eagle. Life Insurance - The Basic Life premium is 100% paid by Eagle and is a flat $20,000 benefit for all FT, benefit eligible employees. Employees have the option to purchase additional voluntary life insurance for self, spouse, and dependent children. Vacation/PTO: The amount of vacation/paid time off (PTO) employees receive each year starts at 80 hours (2 weeks) each year, which accrues at a rate of 1.538 hours per week, and increases with the length of employment. 6 Company Paid Holidays - Eligible after 60 days of employment. Sick Leave - Eligible for paid sick days at the rate of 3 days (24 hours) per year after 6 months of service (prorated for per the calendar year).
