The Role

Bottomline is looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to grow with useither remotely or in a Hybrid work environment out of our Portsmouth, NH office.

The QA Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing test scripts, database validation testing, software and web testing. The QA Engineer participates in all phases of a project, from business requirements review, design, to final system testing and launch, as well as providing production support for the Paymode application and client base. He/she must be a self-starter, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a strong attention to detail.

How you'll contribute:
  • Analyze functional business requirements for completeness and test case preparation
  • Create/write test scripts for manual execution based on Business Requirements
  • Execute test scripts and identify variations from expected results
  • Participate in a rotating schedule providing production support to internal and external business clients, which occasionally requires support outside of normal business hours
  • Interface and coordinate research/resolution of issues with the Customer Support, Development, and Product Management teams.
  • Keep management informed of testing project status, raise issues/risks as necessary
  • Create/track/retest software defects in designated defect tracking tool
  • Work closely with development and product management staff to discuss defects and resolutions
  • Participate in and provide input during QA process improvement initiatives
What will make you successful:
  • Ability and willingness to work Eastern Time Zone work hours.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL
  • Must be able to work the occasional weekend, holiday and after-hours support
  • 3+ years' experience in quality assurance, engineering support, or technical support environment or equivalent experience
  • The ability to execute existing queries as well as write search queries of varying complexity
  • Solid knowledge to interpret results, identify trends and communicate appropriately
  • Sound knowledge/experience of Web Application testing
  • Understanding of software QA processes and methodologies/tools (Quality Center preferred)
  • Ability to perform tests against Web applications, both front-end UI as well as back-end databases, application servers, and services
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills along with solid experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
  • BS in Computer Science/Engineering, MIS or related engineering/science fields - or equivalent work experience.
