Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team in

Primary Responsibilities: The Quality Assurance Engineer will lead quality initiatives, including capability studies, dimensional checks, material testing, product inspections, change management, and process documentation. This position is crucial in achieving optimal productivity and quality that meets customer specifications. You will provide quality support to both internal and external customers, ensuring thorough documentation of processes and timely resolution of quality issues.
Your primary focus will be enhancing customer satisfaction for our products and services by fostering operator awareness, implementing inspection and audit programs, driving continuous improvement, and conducting customer visits for valuable feedback. Moreover, you will contribute to achieving cost efficiency and quality targets for existing products.
In this role, you will guide the plant in achieving high levels of customer satisfaction, minimizing PPM, and enhancing the quality system. You will report directly to the Quality Manager while actively participating in the Launch team, supporting multiple projects, and maintaining compliance with TS16949 standards.
Key Responsibilities: - Support project launch strategy and timelines.
- Identify open item issues and coordinate resolutions.
- Collaborate on pre-production builds requiring components and services.
- Develop and document processes while addressing plant training needs.
- Train production personnel on processing and quality standards.
- Ensure product compliance with customer engineering standards.
- Manage quality documentation and coordinate problem-solving initiatives.
- Evaluate and review supplier performance and submissions.
- Monitor customer concerns and rejections pre-production and post-launch.
- Perform capability studies and inspections as needed.
- Coordinate with suppliers on PPAP requirements.
- Review and approve supplier PPAP packages.
- Support TS16949, APQP, and PPAP elements.
- Conduct gage R&R studies and certifications.
- Assist engineers with FMEA and process flowchart development.
- Collaborate with the team to establish process controls and training for new projects.
Deliverables: - Maintain quality/dimensional control systems (i.e., X&R charts, gage studies, six sigma).
- Conduct dimensional capability studies.
- Ensure necessary quality documentation is maintained and accessible.
- Update the PPAP booklet for assigned programs.
- Collaborate with engineers on PPAP submittals.
- Manage quality technician and inspector assignments as required.
- Maintain process documentation (i.e., PFMEA, flow charts).
- Manage internal and external databases: 8Ds, Process Alerts, Rejections, and more.
- Oversee annual product certifications.
Qualifications Desired: - Bachelor's degree in a technology or engineering-related discipline.
- Experience in the automotive industry.
- At least 2 years in a quality engineering role.
- Familiarity with SAP and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with plastics and injection/blow molding is a plus.
- Highly motivated, with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.
