Position Overview: The Quality Assurance Engineer will play a vital role in supporting our 14 CFR Part 135 Air Carrier Certificate. This position demands a thorough understanding of quality assurance processes, attention to intricate technical details, and a commitment to maintaining our aircraft to the highest standards. You will report directly to the Quality Assurance Manager.
Key Responsibilities: - Draft, revise, and manage Aircraft Minimum Equipment Lists (MEL).
- Develop and oversee FAA Approved Aircraft Inspection Programs (AAIP).
- Create and maintain comprehensive Aircraft Master Inspection Lists (MIL).
- Research and compile data to produce Configuration Control Documents (CCD).
- Manage aircraft maintenance tracking programs and conduct necessary audits.
- Stay updated on FAA Airworthiness Directives and service bulletins, providing guidance to field technicians.
- Conduct aircraft acceptance inspections post-maintenance and modifications.
- Produce documentation to support aircraft conformity to regulatory requirements.
- Oversee Aircraft Weight and Balance program and associated Equipment Lists.
- Audit maintenance records, generating scopes for major maintenance events.
- Provide technical oversight for significant repairs and alterations.
- Support the Records Department with compliance reviews of return-to-service documentation.
- Assist field technicians in interpreting technical data and compliance queries.
- Collaborate with the Director of Maintenance as needed to manage fleet aircraft.
Minimum Qualifications: - High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant License.
- At least 5 years of meaningful experience with a 14 CFR Part 135 air carrier or Part 145 repair station, ideally in quality assurance or technical support.
- Familiarity with Beechcraft King Air and Pilatus PC12 series aircraft is a plus.
- Ability to communicate complex technical data clearly and effectively.
- Strong initiative and meticulousness in quality, safety, and regulatory adherence.
- Integrity, strong work ethics, and focus on compliance and safety.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Capacity to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and modern computerized systems.
Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in aviation management or related fields.
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant License with Inspection Authorization.
- 10+ years of related experience with a 14 CFR Part 135 air carrier or Part 145 repair station.
- Hands-on experience maintaining Beechcraft King Air and Pilatus PC-12 aircraft.
- Experience with FAA Aircraft Safety Inspectors and documents for FAA conformity inspections.
- Knowledge in developing FAA Approved Aircraft Inspection Programs (AAIP) and MELs.
