Program Quality Engineer

Overview:

Seeking a driven Program Quality Engineer to oversee all quality-related activities for assigned programs, from documentation to compliance support. This role ensures products meet rigorous standards and customer expectations, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all quality activities tied to assigned programs, including technical publications, quality planning documents, inspection standards, and customer/supplier communications.
  • Prepare and submit first article inspections (FAI) in compliance with AS-9012 Rev. C, along with all required supporting materials.
  • Analyze and interpret Statistical Process Control (SPC) data to drive improvements.
  • Perform detailed failure analysis and drive the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Create, manage, and submit CDRL/SDRL documentation packages as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred; extensive, relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Prior experience in defense contracting.
  • Working knowledge of ISO-9001 and/or AS-9100 standards.
  • Solid understanding of configuration management practices.
  • Proficient in interpreting complex engineering drawings and specifications, including expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5M.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification preferred, but not required.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to mentor, train, and supervise team members.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to transform raw data into actionable insights for leadership teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Hands-on experience with SPC tools (e.g., MiniTab).
  • Background in auditing and maintaining quality management systems.
  • Proactive decision-maker with strong ownership mentality.
  • Collaborative spirit to work effectively within integrated program teams (IPT) including engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and operations.

Training and Compliance:

  • General safety and job-specific quality system training.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Willingness to comply with random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with DOD regulations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Light to moderate physical activity; occasional lifting.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Continuous visual and mental concentration.
  • Some travel may be required.
