Description:

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will create tests that identify issues with product software and infrastructure in advance of product launch.

Rate: $65 - $70 / hr. w2

Responsibilities:

What You Will Do :
  • Responsible for developing and applying testing procedures. Devises and maintains quality control and reliability standards. Provides technical support to other departments. Ensures testing procedures meet industry standards.
  • Ensures accurate record of measurement data. Selects samples for testing, collaborates with research and development or quality departments to develop testing strategies, and monitors the progress.
  • Collects and analyzes test data and compiles and interprets findings into reports for management. Recommends changes to products, product designs, production processes or services. Tests may be destructive or non-destructive in nature, or may include laboratory testing and/or analysis.
  • Responsibilities will include test strategy and plan development, test and test data development, test execution and automation, tracking and reporting of software defects and defect resolution, root cause analysis of identified defects, and development and maintenance of test and test result documentation.
  • You will support testing activities across the entire software development lifecycle, including integration, system, performance, regression, user acceptance, disaster recovery, and end-to-end testing. You will lead efforts to automate testing activities and to integrate test automations into the CI/CD Pipeline tools such as Github Actions, Code Fresh etc. and DevSecOps processes.
Experience Requirements:

What You Will Need :
  • Minimum of FOUR (4) years of experience working in a quality assurance or testing role supporting enterprise computing platforms and system development efforts
  • Minimum of TWO (2) years of experience providing quality assurance and testing support for workloads that deploy on AWS
  • Ability to expertly perform manual & automated testing, documentation, and recreation and validation of issues or defects reported by the end users
  • Experience planning and tracking tests, test results, and defects in Jira and ability to proficiently perform application testing using Selenium and the Apache JMeter load testing tool
  • Proven ability to productively work remotely and collaborate, mentor, help, and support other team members, as needed to solve complex technical problems
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, team player, good time-management skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, a sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the team's success
  • Proven ability to test software products and cloud infrastructure configurations and identifying deficiencies; suggest solutions to identified product problems; plan, create and manage the overall Quality Planning strategy; collaborate with the Product Development team to ensure consistent project execution; identify quality assurance process bottleneck and suggest actions for improvement; oversee continuous improvement projects; prepare and present quality assurance and testing reports, presentations, and information; and adhere to deadlines and communicate status and progress
  • An in-depth understanding of the Agile and Scaled Agile practices and principles experience. Must be an experienced Agile practitioner with proven ability to plan and implement software products with agility
  • Experience and proficiency developing and implementing quality assurance and testing programs for workloads that are implemented with AWS services, and software development technologies that include Vue.js, Python, Django, S3, SNS, SQS, Docker, EKS/Kubernetes, AWS Step Functions, EventBridge, AWS Lambda, AWS API Gateway, Elasticsearch, Caching frameworks, like Redis, Memcached, the Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) for Postgres, the MongoDB NoSQL database service, and other AWS services
  • Familiarity and ability to test and validate workload conformance with the AWS Well Architected Framework design principals
  • This is a hands-on quality assurance engineering position and requires the ability to proficiently and predictably plan, automate, and execute testing strategies for AWS cloud infrastructure services and application workloads
What Would Be Nice To Have :
  • Certification: AWS Certified Developer
  • Experience working with Python/Django web-based applications
  • Experience conducting penetration and load testing on the AWS Cloud
  • Experience working with the Playwright end-to-end test framework
  • Experience in configuring monitoring and alerting in Sentry
  • Knowledge of 508 testing standards and requirements
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or additional FOUR (4) years experience in lieu of degree
