We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Defense Systems Aerospace Sector and lead the AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI) processes for our cutting-edge Hypersonic Program.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop, complete, and submit First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) according to AS9102 standards.
  • Review engineering drawings, certificates, and associated documentation to guarantee accuracy and completeness for all FAIs.
  • Verify compliance with customer specifications, purchase orders, SOWs, and CDRLs.
  • Ensure alignment between customer technical data packs and FAIR documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to address FAI discrepancies and non-conformance issues.
  • Provide expert technical support on FAI processes to internal teams.
  • Work together with customers for timely and accurate submission of FAIRs according to project deadlines.
  • Analyze and interpret engineering documents, specifications, and manufacturing data for FAIR viability.
  • Contribute to process enhancements and apply best practices to FAI procedures.
  • Stay informed about industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to AS9102 and the aerospace & defense sector.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced team members while supporting initiatives for continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of related work experience. A High School diploma/GED with 10 years of experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Proven attention to detail with an aptitude for identifying discrepancies in documentation and processes.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of customer specifications, purchase orders, SOWs, and CDRLs.
  • Familiarity with interpreting industry specifications such as ASME, ASTM, and SAE.
  • Ability to analyze complex engineering drawings and technical data confidently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, fostering collaboration among customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Knowledge of industry standards including AS9102, AS9100, and other aerospace & defense specifications.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for documentation and reporting.
  • Candidates must reside or be willing to relocate to the Colorado Springs - Monument - Pueblo, CO area.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
