Position Summary: Frazil produces all its delicious slush in our Utah-based warehouse. Our brand rests on the quality of the product and the efficiency of our operations. Our QA and Safety Manager is responsible for helping Frazil maintain our quality and safety as we grow by serving as our primary reviewer of product quality and being our resident authority for food and physical safety.
On a given day, you may be testing product batches, ensuring all products are within food safety regulations, completing quality checks throughout the production line, or reviewing and implementing quality assurance improvements. You may also be training on and implementing new safety measures for the team. You will be responsible for quality assurance and physical safety from material sourcing through to packaging along with all documentation related to quality checks, machine calibration, testing, etc.

Key Responsibilities Our QA and Safety Manager is focused on maintaining quality standards throughout the sourcing, production, and packaging process. While certain actions or tasks may be routine, you will be faced with unique challenges and problems to solve every day.
Daily responsibilities may include:
- Manages and create QA and safety documentation including process documents, audit results, training materials, and standard operating procedures.
- Trains employees in safety, food safety and quality standards.
- Identifies potential QA and safety risks and implements corrective measures.
- Resolves quality and safety concerns or hazards immediately.
- Acts as a first responder to QA (including product recalls) and safety incidents.
- Conducts root cause analysis of QA and safety incidents and recommends preventive actions.
- Partners with the plant manager in completing the annual SQF audit.
- Inspects incoming ingredients and perform all required safety testing as needed.
- Partners with the senior leadership team in setting benchmarks for optimal performance.
- Resolves quality and safety concerns or hazards immediately.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise This work is fast-paced, deadline-driven, and requires the ability to manage large amounts of detailed information. In addition, specific field experience is required.
Required Qualifications:- 4+ years in a food or beverage manufacturing QA role
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year university in food science or a closely related field.
- Experience managing safety and QA under standards protocols (GMP or HACCP)
- Demonstrated experience using analytical testing methods and reporting.
