The Opportunity Our client is in search of a Quality Assurance Analyst to join the team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software applications through meticulous testing and validation processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software quality assurance, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

As part of the project team, you will be re-engineering and modernizing core financial systems, and performing various financial planning, analysis, and management functions. These assets are impacted by the implementation of a new state accounting system, requiring extensive remediation. This multiyear project aims to transition to a modern financial management solution, including the adoption of standardized business processes, a new chart of accounts, and the redevelopment of interfaces to the statewide accounting system.

Job duties include, but not limited to:
  • Plan and implement various tests (e.g., regression, functional, data validation, system integration, load, or performance tests) for new and existing functionality.
  • Develop and execute formal test plans to ensure quality software applications.
  • Involved in test planning, writing test cases/scripts, test case automation, and test execution.
  • Define and track quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results, and test status.
  • Collect and analyze data for software process evaluation and improvement, integrating findings into business processes.
  • Document all problems and assist in their resolution.
  • Collaborate with development teams to design testing strategies and integrate testing into the development process.
  • Plan, create, execute, and automate test cases, working with business analysts, customers, developers, and other stakeholders.
  • Document and analyze test results and recommend corrective action.
  • Isolate, reproduce, manage, and maintain defects and test case databases, verifying fixes.
  • Support user acceptance testing conducted by customers.
  • Understand and apply automated testing approaches such as model-based testing or record-and-replay.
  • Research, recommend, and implement new testing technologies and practices.
  • Define and champion quality and testing best practices among development teams.
  • Deliver quality process training to technical staff and act as an internal quality consultant to advise or influence business or technical partners.
  • Monitor, track, and report on defects.
Compensation and Term

This opportunity is for a full-time, contract position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $115,000 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.

Qualifications you need

A successful candidate has the following experience and skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance or a related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience in developing and conducting test processes for multiple systems, clients, and/or organizational units.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' of management, supervisory, or team leader experience.
  • Experience in a DevOps environment is highly desired.
  • Experience with Enterprise Architecture is required.
  • Knowledge of Informatica IICS Cloud Data Integration tools and Snowflake is highly desired.
  • Proven ability to build and manage relationships in a matrixed environment.
  • Ability to convey knowledge effectively.
  • Proficiency in working in a fast-paced, complex, dynamic, and multicultural business environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and proactive issue and risk management.
  • Resolve production release issues across business and technology teams.
  • Proficiency in process formulation and communication.
  • Ability to lead and motivate others.
  • Strong grasp of IT infrastructure and application development technology and architectures.
  • Knowledge of assessment and analytical processes and practices.
  • Skill in strategic planning.
  • Skill in researching, compiling, and analyzing data to report findings and develop improvement solutions.
  • Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, prioritize, and manage complex work assignments and project schedules.
  • Ability to research, identify, and implement innovative solutions.
  • Ability to facilitate and coordinate meetings, workshops, conferences, etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
