Quality Associate - Onsite (Middletown OH)
JOB SUMMARY:
This job is in the Quality job family (Department), which includes positions the duties of which are to perform, administer, or advise on work concerned with assuring the quality of Metal products. The work of this series involves the development of plans and programs for achieving and maintaining product quality throughout the item's life cycle, monitoring operations to prevent the production of defects and to verify adherence to quality plans and requirements, and analysis and investigation of adverse quality trends or conditions and initiation of corrective action. The duties of these positions require analytical ability combined with knowledge and application of assurance principles and techniques, and knowledge of pertinent product characteristics and the associated manufacturing processes and techniques. The primary goal is to ensure that all products meet industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. This role involves a combination of inspection, documentation, and collaboration with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues. Heavily involved in all aspects of outside processing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Quality Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished metal products to identify defects, non-conformities, and deviations from quality standards.
- Testing and Analysis: Perform various tests and measurements to assess the physical and chemical properties of metal products, ensuring they meet required specifications.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspection results, quality reports, and non-conformance reports. Create and update quality documentation and procedures.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with production teams to implement quality control processes and procedures. Provide guidance on best practices to maintain product quality.
- Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and analyze the root causes of quality issues and defects, and work with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and optimize production processes.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and customer specifications. Stay updated on relevant quality standards and certifications.
- Communication: Effectively communicate quality-related information to team members, management, and other relevant stakeholders. Provide feedback and recommendations for quality improvements.
- Training: Assist in training and educating production personnel on quality standards, inspection techniques, and quality control procedures.
REQUIRED & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 0-5 years of relevant experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
- High School diploma/GED required.
- Understanding of basic concepts and principles pertinent to raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective processing and distribution of material required.
- Basic understanding of company products and their uses required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Measurement skills, including taking, converting, and/or using measurements of length, width, height, and weight to perform basic math computations correctly required.
- Arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions required.
- Ability to make sound decisions based on a combination of factors including analysis, knowledge and experience, and judgment required.
- Ability to initiate and maintain cooperative relationships with co-workers as well as internal/external customers required.
- Basic computer proficiency and working knowledge of software applications required.
