We are currently recruiting dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils in a range of inclusive and welcoming schools across Wolverhampton, Walsall, and Dudley. These rewarding roles are available immediately and for the new academic year, with flexible opportunities to suit your availability.

About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support children with a range of special educational needs including:
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
ADHD
Speech, language and communication needs
SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health)
Global developmental delays
Physical disabilities and complex learning needs
You may be working one-to-one or supporting small groups both inside and outside the classroom. You'll play a key role in supporting the class teacher, delivering interventions, and ensuring all pupils feel included, supported, and safe.

Key Responsibilities:
Support the learning and development of pupils with additional needs
Implement strategies and interventions as advised by the SENCO or external professionals
Use resources like PECS, visual schedules, and Makaton where required
Provide personal care if required (training will be provided)
Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
Keep detailed records of pupil progress and contribute to review meetings and reports

Essential Requirements:
Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning, Childcare, or equivalent
Previous experience working with SEN pupils in a school, nursery, or care setting
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Calm, adaptable, and proactive approach to behaviour and classroom support
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)

Desirable:
Familiarity with EHCPs and SEN strategies
Additional training such as Team Teach, Autism Awareness, or Makaton
Flexibility to support in mainstream or specialist SEN schools
