The role of the QA Engineer:

Manual testers focus on exploratory testing, UI/UX validation, complex user flows, and areas not yet covered by automation. They are responsible for human-centric validation that requires judgment, creativity, or domain expertise.

Exploratory Testing

  • Execute manual test cases based on user stories, acceptance criteria, and design mockups.

  • Identify edge cases, usability issues, and potential user friction.

Test Case Management

  • Maintain clear and structured test cases using tools such as Azure Test Plans or TestRail.

  • Keep test cases current, linked to product features and user stories.

Cross-Platform and Device Testing

  • Verify functionality and layout across supported browsers, screen sizes, and devices.

  • Use real devices or tools such as BrowserStack where needed.

Regression Testing

  • Execute regression passes for each release cycle, ensuring key workflows continue to function correctly.

  • Provide detailed feedback on any unexpected behaviours or test failures.

UAT Facilitation and Defect Triage

  • Assist stakeholders during User Acceptance Testing.

  • Record reproducible, well-documented bug reports including all necessary technical detail.

  • Work with development teams to validate defect fixes and maintain up-to-date test records.

  • QA testers are expected to work as fully embedded members of agile delivery teams. This includes:

    • Participating in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

    • Collaborating on ticket refinement and testability discussions.

    • Reviewing infrastructure designs and implementation strategies.

    • Coordinating with DevOps to validate monitoring, telemetry, and logging coverage.

Your experience:

Given what we expect the role to contribute, the minimum we require is a track record of significant contribution to application quality and release consistency:

  • At least 5 years of software testing experience, at least 3 years on a complex, data-driven B2B Saas platform.

  • Proven experience in end-to-end application testing, performance, user acceptance and non-functional testing. Also, API testing.

  • Good understanding of Test Management tools e.g., QMetry, TestRail, QTest.

  • Good knowledge of test techniques, methodologies, and strategies - functional and non-functional.

  • Hands on experience in POSTMAN API, Swagger, or another other API client.

  • Experience in Web test automation framework e.g., Cypress,Playwright, Selenium desirable.

  • Experience in Performance, Load testing with JMeter orK6 desirable.
