QA Engineer

Lawo, based in Rastatt, Germany, is an innovative, leading supplier of professional audio, video and control solutions to the world-wide broadcast market. We develop and manufacture our products in Germany and support them with a global Customer Support Team.

Responsibilities:

1. Quality Assurance testing of edge product releases, including baseband video and audio processing, network streaming as per SMPTE2110, HOME UI operation, device configuration, system upgrades, and regression testing.
2. System integration testing with HOME, HOME APPs and other devices.
3. System testing for scalability, performance, robustness, and security.
4. Ongoing development and expansion of automated test coverage for edge.
5. Development, maintenance, and execution of manual feature test scripts.
6. Working with the Support team to troubleshoot customer and deployment issues.
7. Working with the DevOps team to optimize the CI environment.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Minimum of two years' experience in a Quality Assurance role.
2. Experience with professional video and audio broadcast systems, and with standard professional broadcast test equipment, eg Telestream, Phabrix.
3. Good knowledge of video and audio IP streaming standards eg SMPTE2110, Ravenna, AES67, Dante, NDI, SRT.
4. Knowledge of scripting languages eg Python.
5. Experience with broadcast industry control protocols eg NMOS, Ember+.
6. Experience of containerization and cloud technologies eg Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform.
7. Experience of standard office tools and operating systems eg Microsoft Office 365, Linux, Windows, macOS.
8. Experience of version control, issue tracking and collaboration tools eg Git, JIRA, Xray, Confluence.
9. Experience of agile development, automated CI/CD tools, and release processes.
10. Knowledge of the Lawo portfolio of products.
11. Keen to learn new technologies and products.
12. Education in electronic engineering, computing, IT or related field.
13. Ability to work independently within a small team.
14. Ability to travel occasionally for business.
15. Fluent in spoken and written business English.
