Role Description:
The Software QA Engineer I position helps maintain the quality of Loftware's existing and future software products through the development, review, and execution of test cases that conform to defined functional specifications, design documents, and external application standards. With an emphasis on test automation, the Software QA Engineer I will apply their technical skills ensuring quality meets the expectations of our customers and the organization.

Position reports to: Manager, Software Quality Assurance

Location: Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Hybrid work environment (remote work ability with 1 to 2 days required to be spent working in office).

Responsibilities:

• Create test plans as directed.

• Make recommendations on the suitability of a product for release.

• Prioritize testing within a functional area.

• Estimate the time that he or she will require to complete tasks.

• Work closely with the development and QA team to ensure quality standards are maintained.

• Be an advocate for quality.

• Commit to continuously learning by developing the technical knowledge necessary to be a valuable contributing member.

• Assist with designing and coding activities required to support test automation.

• Create defect reports for non-compliance.

• Defect reproduction and retest from existing defect reports.

Required Qualifications:

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math or related field or relevant experience.

• GPA of 3.0 or above.

• Knowledge of test automation frameworks.

• Experience developing or automating in Java or related programming language.

• Experience with Database environments (SQL Server, Postgres, etc.).

• Experience with Cloud based technologies (AWS, Azure).

• 1-2 years experience working in a software development organization.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

• Strong analytical and statistical analysis skills.
