Python Software Engineer

Primary Skills: Python (Expert), RESTful APIs (Proficient), Pytest (Proficient), Git (Proficient), Jenkins (Intermediate). Contract Type: W2 Only Duration: 6+ Months Location: Sunnyvale, CA Pay Range: $55 - $58 per hour on W2 Job Summary: We are seeking a Python Software Engineer to design, enhance, and maintain object-oriented Python libraries and applications for manufacturing factory machine control and testing. The role involves developing back-end Linux software, with opportunities to work on front-end web development. This contractor position entails a 6-month initial term with the possibility of an extension to 12 months or permanent placement based on performance and project needs, requiring 5 days onsite. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain object-oriented Python applications for manufacturing contexts. Develop Pytest unit and integration tests for new and existing software. Collaborate with the team in a CI/CD environment using Git and Jenkins. Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, from design to deployment. Provide documentation and support for developed applications. Must-Have Skills: Advanced expertise in Object-Oriented Python development. Proficiency in RESTful APIs and JSON. Experience with test-driven development using Pytest. Industry Experience: Prior experience in manufacturing or related domain preferred but not required.
