Software Engineer (Python / API / SQL) - Hybrid - Irvine, CA
Contract-to-Hire Financial Services / Lending Technology
A well-established and fast-growing company in the financial services and lending technology space is seeking a Software Engineer for a contract-to-hire role. The position is hybrid, based out of Irvine, California, and offers long-term growth potential in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
The ideal candidate is a disciplined engineer with strong experience in Full Stack Development including Python, React, and SQL. You'll work with a stable and experienced technology team building scalable applications to support a wide range of financial product offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain scalable web applications using Python and the Flask framework
- Design and implement RESTful APIs for frontend/backend integration and third-party platforms
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Utlizing React for frontend development
- Develop optimized SQL queries and maintain relational database performance
- Troubleshoot and enhance existing systems for reliability, performance, and security
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for new and existing systems
What You Bring:
- Strong hands-on experience with Python and Flask
- Proficiency in React.
- Solid understanding of SQL and experience working with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server)
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems
- Ability to identify and resolve complex bugs and performance issues
Bonus Skills:
- Exposure to modern frontend frameworks like Vue.js or React
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure)
- Knowledge of Docker or other container tools
