General Job Description: Purchasing Supervisor supervises daily purchasing operations functioning as a Buyer, Project/Internal Support, and as a Supervisor of a team. Implements strategy to provide materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality volume, and pricing.
The Team Leader is expected to have routine interaction with their team as well as their internal customers. The Team Leader is responsible to ensure that their staff is providing a turnkey procurement solution relative to the responsibilities they are charged with.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Supervise Teams Responsible for: Project or Internal Support
- Supervises a team of Buyers directly that covers a Project or Internal Support function.
- Assists in the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and training of new team members.
- Collaborates with Buyers on a daily basis to ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Identifies and offers solutions to any issues to the Purchasing Manager and/or Director.
- Responsible for subcontract review of non-union requests, bond reviews, and redline review/negotiations.
- Understand and resolve billing disputes between Project Managers and suppliers. Escalating to Sales and Purchasing leadership as needed.
- Work to manage the process of mitigating delays, properly notifying suppliers of their responsibilities from a cost perspective relative to supplier caused issues.
Other - Maintaining a knowledge of market conditions as they pertain to pricing, service, and known product issues.
- Working with Buyers on your team or as assigned by your Director , update and maintain unit cost pricing database.
- Identify areas of potential cost reduction and analyze the impact of pricing changes for goods and services.
- Track costs in unit measurement. Evaluate market trends.
- Develop and maintain reports needed to manage suppliers and staff
- Develop/maintain vendor relationships.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Position Requirements (Skills, Knowledge, Abilities):
- A High School diploma or recognized equivalent.
- Must have 2 years related work experience in materials and production field.
- Knowledgeable on Supply Chain Management practices.
- Proficient in the understanding of the issuing of Subcontracts, HVAC Equipment, PVF and Fire Sprinkler, Plumbing and Process, Site Utilities, Field Technician Support, Commodities and Job Site Support, Invoice Processing, and working in Bidtracer.
- Proficient-plus level user of MS Excel and MS Word
- Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision to meet deadlines
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills, both over the phone and in person
- Able to work effectively and professionally in a team environment
- Strong business writing skills, including use of proper grammar and terminology
- Knowledge of the industry is preferred but not required
- Able to demonstrate high customer service skills
- Able to organize large amounts of information
- Must be goal oriented and meet deadlines

Travel: 0 -5% of the time to and from the primary office to regional branch offices.
Competitive Wages: $98,002.50 - $134,411.25 Annual Salary.
