Role
The Purchasing Supervisor acts as a team leader of the Purchasing Agents to ensure that the storerooms run smoothly. Assists the Purchasing leaders in ensuring that all policies and standard operating procedures are followed and inventory level of all supplies and materials is effectively maintained at an optimum level.
This position has an hourly compensation rate of $38.50
Key Responsibilities
- Update daily receiving in the Purchasing/Inventory system and generate a Daily Receiving report for food, beverage, non-food and beverage on a timely basis.
- Ensure all goods received are delivered to the correct storage place/holding area.
- Maintain the highest level of business integrity in dealing with vendors and delivery persons.
- Check all incoming goods against delivery orders and invoices, food specifications and purchase records to ensure that the type, amount, price and quality of items charged and ordered are correct and maintain safe, sanitary and organized storage of all items.
- Issue, store, price and rotate all incoming goods for the hotel and maintain a good balance between par levels of inventory items and on hand quantities in accordance to business needs.
- Ensure all local and corporate policies, rules, internal controls and procedures and safeguards as they relate to the Purchasing Department are complied with.
- Understand quality standards of the hotel.
- Ensure that all non-food and beverage deliveries coincide with an approved purchase order.
- Maintain an up to date file of the receiving copy of all approved purchase orders.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Director of Finance/Assistant Director of Finance or Director of Purchasing.
Job Requirements
- Require a working technical knowledge of Internal Controls, Policies and Procedures as it relates to Purchasing, Store and Receiving, including purchase orders and inventory procedures.
- Require knowledge of and the ability to operate computer equipment
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle with a clean driver's license
- 1-year previous experience in hospitality purchasing
- Able to be organized, manage time wisely and work with little to no direct supervision
- Very high attention to detail and extensive service knowledge
- Sensitive to cultural nuances
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English
- Able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, fast paced environment
- Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance as per company policies
