PURCHASING MANAGER ROLE OVERVIEW The Purchasing Manager defines procurement strategies and processes in an integrated team environment. This is an opportunity to elevate our team from transactional purchasing to strategic supply chain management with a focus on ethical procurement and sustainability. You will perform all purchasing functions necessary for Kwik Lok operations. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS PURCHASING Lead and manage key procurement activities and the overall development, execution and success of Kwik Lok's procurement strategy, both by team at headquarters and by individual plants. Utilize sound supply chain analytics to review, assess and improve procurement policies, processes and controls. Ensure procurement activity compliance with applicable requirements and regulations. Maintain procurement data and metrics for certifications. Guarantee purchasing is in line with values stated in our Corporate Social Responsibility goals, utilize the Kwik Lok Supplier Code of Conduct to make sure we are sourcing materials from companies with ethical business practices. Manage the sourcing process, including specification generation, tendering, pricing, and negotiation strategies that reduce cost and improve service and dependability. Continue to maintain up to date best practice knowledge on relevant market intelligence, commodity trends, future possibilities, and new sources of supply. Select and work with vendors, maintaining positive relationships while obtaining optimal pricing, selection, quality, availability, reliability, and expedition of orders. Leverage vendor relationships to effectively support the internal Quality Control team in issue resolution. Collaborate with internal Shipping department to drive efficient freight quoting and solutions. Develop long-term and short-term spend plans. Perform all purchasing functions with team as needed. PEOPLE LEADERSHIP Continually develop Purchasing team, collaborating at regular intervals on performance, growth, and opportunities. Manage performance and outputs from your team using clearly defined targets with a focus on financial performance, quality, and collaboration. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 8 years' experience with procurement or sales 2 years leadership experience Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or related field preferred Experience with ERP systems, NetSuite and Microsoft Navision a plus Understanding of market dynamics, especially in relation to the plastics industry Experience in developing and implementing procurement policies and processes Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and background screening Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship KEY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES Ability to build and manage key partnerships both internally and externally Risk and financial analysis skills and the ability to interpret and utilize key financial data Strong analytical and creative problem-solving capabilities Strong leadership mindset Can collaborate and work effectively across functional lines, and work independently Possesses advanced and concise communication skills (writing, listening, verbal), able to communicate and work closely with highly technical personnel Approaches work with an innovative spirit, constantly focused on continual improvement ALL THE DETAILS Pay scale: $95,000 -110,000 per year Insurance Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription, Life and Disability Insurance plans (eligible on the 1st of the month following or coinciding with date of hire) Retirement Benefits: 401K Plan with company match (90 day waiting period - restrictions apply) Paid Time Off: (90 day waiting period, prorated for first year) Vacation: 160 hours a year, with increases based on years of service Holidays: 70 hours a year (8.5 days): 1 Floating Holiday, New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following, half day on Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day Sick Leave: 40 hours a year, accrued at 1 hour per 40 hours worked for hourly employees, salary employees prorated for first year Other Compensation: Employees may be eligible for annual performance bonuses Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm Location: Yakima, Washington. Relocation to Yakima, WA or remote work may be considered. Work environment: Occasionally bends, squats, reaches, kneels, and may lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion. Constantly seeing, hearing, talking.
