The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing cost-effective procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement, excellent leadership skills, and a proven ability to streamline processes and achieve organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with organizational objectives and drive cost savings.
• Establish and enforce procurement policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing procurement team, fostering growth and attention to detail.
• Analyze market trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction, risk mitigation, and supplier optimization.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable contracts and ensuring reliable service.
• Monitor supplier performance and address quality, delivery, or compliance issues as needed.
• Implement and manage procurement systems and tools, including e-procurement platforms and analytics.
• Conduct regular spend analysis to uncover opportunities for cost savings and strategic sourcing.
• Oversee the procurement budget, ensuring effective cost control and reporting on key performance metrics.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, compliance, and market fluctuations.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field (equivalent experience will be considered).
• 5+ years of purchasing experience, including prior supervisory responsibilities.
• Certifications such as Certified Purchasing Specialist (CPP) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPPM) are preferred.
• Experience in the food industry is highly desirable.
• Strong familiarity with e-procurement tools and procurement analytics tools.
• Proficiency in supplier relationship management, negotiation, and purchasing strategies.
