Sierra Executive Solutions, Inc. (SES) is a 3rd party search firm recruiting for a Carson City, Nevada distribution company's Purchasing Manager or Purchasing Director, depending on level of professional experience in this field. If hired at the Manager level, the career path will be to Director title estimated within 1-2 years. This career position reports directly to the company's Chief Operating Officer.


Our client company is a fast-growing, reputable, customer-focused company providing high-quality sanitation and cleaning solutions across commercial, industrial, and institutional markets. With a strong distribution network and a commitment to excellence, they are seeking a skilled Purchasing Manager or Director to manage procurement operations and position the company for scalable growth.


The Purchasing Manager or Director will oversee the sourcing, procurement, and vendor management of raw materials, packaging, and distribution products. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and has a background in distribution, industrial supplies, or manufacturing procurement.


Key Responsibilities:

- Manage end-to-end purchasing operations, including demand planning, cost analysis, and supplier negotiation of over 100 vendors.

- Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships to ensure quality, pricing, and timely delivery.

- Collaborate with inventory, warehouse, and production teams to align purchasing with operational goals.

- Drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or service.

- Maintain ERP and procurement systems with accurate product and vendor data.

- Analyze market trends and pricing forecasts to make proactive purchasing decisions.

- Support new product sourcing and vendor onboarding for growth initiatives.

- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.


Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field; MBA or CPM/CPSM a plus.

- 5+ years of purchasing management experience, preferably in distribution, manufacturing, or industrial product environments.

- Proven experience leading cross-functional purchasing projects.

- Experience with large product inventories (5,000+ sku's).

- Strong negotiation skills and supplier pricing and management experience.

- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.

- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
