We have an immediate opening for a Purchasing Manager in Canton, GA. Summary: The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement of raw materials, components, outside services, and supplies necessary for production. This role involves developing and executing purchasing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring that procurement activities support manufacturing operations efficiently and cost-effectively. Job Details: Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies to acquire raw materials, components, and outside services at optimal prices and within required timeframes to support manufacturing processes. Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure favorable conditions for the company. Perform regular supplier assessments to ensure performance meets quality and delivery standards. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, components, and supplies. Collaborate with planning and inventory control teams to forecast needs and maintain appropriate stock levels to prevent production delays. Purchase Orders: Manage the creation, approval, and tracking of purchase orders. Ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any issues related to order discrepancies or delays. Cost Management: Analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities. Implement cost-reduction initiatives while maintaining product quality and availability. Quality Assurance: Ensure that purchased materials meet quality standards and specifications required for manufacturing. Address and resolve any issues related to material quality or supplier performance. Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and reporting purposes. Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and quality assurance teams to understand material requirements and resolve any procurement-related issues. Support cross-functional teams to improve procurement processes and efficiency. Leadership: Supervise/Manage one or more buyers. Reporting: Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, inventory levels, and cost savings. Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement in the procurement function. Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to procurement, including supply chain disruptions and vendor reliability. Develop contingency plans to address potential issues that could impact production. Required: Bachelor†s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is very highly preferred 10+ years in procurement or purchasing management, with a focus on manufacturing environments. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite. Understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain management. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Epicor is a plus. Otherwise, any ERP or MRP program will suffice Location: Canton, GA Pay: $40-$45/hr.
