With operations spanning manufacturing, retail, and distribution, we are seeking a proactive and experienced Purchasing Manager to lead our procurement function and optimize vendor relationships in support of continued growth.
Position Overview:
The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of materials and goods needed to support manufacturing and business operations. This role will be based in our Boston office, with regular travel to our Walpole, NH factory once a week during peak production seasons and twice a month during the off-season.
Ideal candidates will have experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite (preferred), SAP, or similar, along with strong skills in vendor negotiation, cost management, and operational planning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Own and manage the full purchasing lifecycle, from sourcing to delivery, across raw materials, packaging, and supplies
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contract conditions to drive cost savings and maintain quality standards
• Maintain and manage relationships with key suppliers and vendors, including evaluating performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing, finance, and product teams to forecast demand and maintain optimal inventory levels
• Use ERP tools (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) to track purchasing activity, generate reports, and maintain data integrity
• Resolve supply chain issues and disruptions in a timely and cost-effective manner
• Attend 1-2 trade shows annually to source new vendors and stay updated on market trends
• Recommend and implement purchasing best practices to improve procurement efficiency and reduce costs
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field
• 5+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience, ideally within a CPG, food & beverage, or manufacturing environment
• Strong negotiation skills and a proven track record of delivering cost savings
• Experience working with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite; SAP or similar tools also acceptable
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Willingness to work onsite in Boston 5 days a week and travel to Walpole, NH regularly
Compensation:
$100,000-$125,000 per year
