We are currently assisting our client, a global leader in electrical contracting infrastructure and electrical security solutions, in their search for

  • Purchasing Buyers (All Levels - Construction & Electrical Materials)
, for their Richmond, VA location. (There are additional positions open in Atlanta, GA, Fairfax Co, VA, and DC)

Location: Richmond, VA - 100% Onsite (not remote or hybrid)

Salary Range $90K - $115K salary base, expedited career pathing track, with stellar benefits package, PTO, 401k, tuition reimbursement, and much more. Relocation assistance is available.

Responsibilities

Functioning as a key liaison between the Procurement team and internal stakeholders including the Executive Team, Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing. Working closely with the core Project teams to manage high visibility and high value programs, applying program/project management skills to assure the timely and efficient execution of our portfolio of projects.

Procurement planning during the bidding phase

Understanding contract specifications and bills of material

Sourcing, identifying, and prequalifying vendors Developing comprehensive RFP's

Analyzing multiple quotes (scope leveling) Vendor Matrix; working with project and engineering team to confirm completeness of scope of service and supply

Negotiating and finalizing agreements

Developing the Procurement Plan

Post award, managing plan implementation

Post award procurement planning and implementation on major projects and programs,

Transferring bid phase documents and knowledge to the project team

Engaging with the project team on procurement planning & implementation

Capturing and communicating market intelligence across projects & programs

Understanding, evaluating, and incorporating current market conditions into procurement plans, including but not limited to:

Pricing trends

Lead times and logistical requirements

Best value opportunities

Alternative products opportunities (Material cost/Labor savings)

Evolving contract compliance requirements

Reading, understanding, and interpreting contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules.

Traveling to project sites, manufacturers, and vendor as needed

Required Qualifications:

Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 5+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

Relevant Purchasing experience sourcing, negotiating contracts with Original Equipment Manufacturers, construction/specialty trade subcontractors and fabricators.

Proven written and verbal communication abilities

Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint and Microsoft Excel.

Familiarity with accounting principles.
