J OB S UMMARY

J OB S UMMARY

The Purchasing and Facility Manager oversees the Purchasing Department, including evaluating suppliers and negotiating contracts to achieve the lowest price for high-quality goods.

E SSENTIAL D UTIES AND R ESPONSIBILITIES

Kitchen Management
  • Support CSCA professional and recreational classes and private events with any ingredient and equipment requests
  • Ensure all kitchens are properly stocked with kitchen staples
Inventory Management
  • Order and maintain appropriate inventory levels of kitchen staples and pantry items
  • Order and maintain appropriate inventory levels of produce
  • Order and maintain appropriate inventory levels of dairy
  • Order and maintain appropriate inventory levels of protein
  • Manage and reduce food waste through proper inventory management
  • Pack and properly store all ingredients to maximize shelf life and freshness
  • Keep equipment and ingredients organized and properly inventoried
  • Keep all supplies organized and properly inventoried
  • Participate in year-end inventory
  • Build new student kits
Facility Management
  • Address any facility issues that may arise: fix minor issues, or contact the appropriate vendor to coordinate a timely repair
  • Maintain cleanliness and order of all kitchen areas
  • Ensure proper cleaning procedures are being followed throughout the kitchens
A DDITIONAL D UTIES AND R ESPONSIBILITIES
  • May be required to work occasional nights as necessitated by business circumstances (orientations, info sessions, graduations, events, etc.)
  • Perform other duties, projects and tasks as needed, directed or assigned
REQUIREMENTS
  • Previous experience in retail, customer service, culinary fields as well are preferred.
  • Culinary or Pastry background a bonus
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers, computers and fax machines
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint, in particular)
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple work tasks.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Outstanding Customer Service Skills.
  • High School Degree or equivalent, culinary or business degree preferred
P HYSICAL D EMANDS
  • This job requires standing, lifting and carrying items
  • This job requires packing ingredients and equipment
  • This job requires accepting deliveries and carrying and stacking boxes of ingredients and supplies
  • Requires the ability to carry 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
W ORK E NVIRONMENT
  • This job operates in our commercial style kitchens.
  • This job may use kitchen equipment such as vacuum sealers, deli slicers, knives, can openers, etc.
P OSITION T YPE AND E XPECTED H OURS OF W ORK
  • This is a part time to full time, Hourly Position.
  • Base hours are a combination of weekdays and weekends
  • In addition, participation in graduations, private events, orientations, etc. may be required from time to time outside of normal work hours.
