In this role, your mission and responsibilities will be to:

Under the direction of the Materials Manager, the Purchasing Clerk manages the procurement process, maintaining inventory levels, tracking orders, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support manufacturing operations.

Specifically, you'll:
  • Ensures necessary raw material, parts, supplies, etc are available at the plant to fulfill manufacturing orders.
  • Assists in the research and evaluation of suppliers based on the price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production, and distribution capabilities, and the suppliers' reputation and history.
  • Prepares purchase orders, solicits bid proposals and reviews requisitions for goods and services.
  • Responsible for tracking and maintaining purchase orders from creation to close.
  • Monitors shipments to ensure that goods arrive on time, and in the event of problems, contacts vendors and follows-up on problem.
  • Attends vendor meetings to learn about products, services, and prices.
  • Evaluates inventory to control levels and conducts cycle counting of inventory.
  • Inputs pricing structure into Syteline.
  • Runs the weekly open order report.
  • Review customer open order report daily and work with shop lead and material handler to ensure orders are shipped out on time.
  • Complete ship transition for customer orders in the system and print packing slips and labels.
  • Responsible for monthly cycle counting.
  • Adjust inventory levels in Syteline to reflect cycle count results
Experience and requirements:

You're a curious problem solver who can bring big ideas to life. You're creative and scrappy but can navigate a large organization with ease. You're agile and adaptable but work with precision to ensure we always deliver top-notch customer experiences. You also have:
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Ideal applicant must be familiar with: backhoes, skid steers, dozers, or other construction equipment.
  • Previous work experience: 2-3 years preferred.
  • Mechanical experience is beneficial.
  • Excellent critical thinking, communication, problem solving skills and interpersonal skills
