Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine in ProvidenceLocation: Providence, Rhode Island Full TimePermanent PositionPosition Summary: Seeking an experienced and visionary Pulmonary/Critical Care physician to lead a robust and growing multidisciplinary service line that includes ICU/Critical Care, Sleep Medicine, and Outpatient Pulmonology across Kent Hospital and affiliated sites. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape program development, collaborate across specialties, and contribute to academic training missions.Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee a service line encompassing ICU, intermediate care, pulmonary outpatient services, and sleep medicine Support the expansion of a growing bronchoscopy and lung nodule program, including use of EBUS and Ion Navigational Bronchoscopy Facilitate collaboration between pulmonology and thoracic surgery to optimize lung cancer diagnostics and treatment Maintain a clinical presence (75%) with administrative leadership (25%) Enhance consultative continuity in ICU and Intermediate Care in collaboration with Hospitalist leadership Contribute to medical education by engaging in resident and medical student teaching Support and expand institutional research and training programs in alignment with academic partnerships Hospital Overview:350+ bed facility located in Warwick, Rhode Island 14 ICU beds and 10 Step Down Unit beds Advanced bronchoscopy suite with EBUS and Ion Navigational Bronchoscopy Teaching affiliations with Warren Alpert Medical School and New England College of Osteopathic Medicine Compensation & Benefits: Competitive compensation with leadership stipend Comprehensive benefits package including health, vision, dental, and retirement Paid malpractice coverage CME support and relocation assistance Opportunity for academic appointment Location Highlights: Coastal living with access to beaches, parks, and year-round outdoor recreation Proximity to Providence, Boston (1 hour), and NYC (3 hours) Excellent schools and a thriving cultural scene
