The Carl Vinson Institute of Government is growing its team that provides research, analysis and decision support to state and local government. We are looking for an experienced leader with demonstrated ability leading organizational assessment, process improvement, performance management, strategic planning and other types of management studies. We are seeking a leader who will analyze organizational and operational challenges and design and develop solutions to improve and track performance.
This position will lead the Strategic Management and Organizational Effectiveness Unit. As Unit Manager, the position will grow a program of work related to organizational assessment, process improvement, performance management, strategic planning and other types of management studies. This is a highly entrepreneurial position with responsibility to foster strong relationships with state officials and other government leaders. This position will analyze organizational and operational challenges and develop solutions to improve and track performance. This position will work closely with state and local government officials on projects to improve organizational effectiveness by utilizing data informed decision models and a human centered design approach.
This role has responsibility for providing technical assistance in various forms for state and local government and public officials, including producing written reports evaluating specific government questions, developing data informed decision models, implementing complex solutions to sensitive issues, and presenting results to groups, both large and small. Complexity in the role is driven by the need to responsive to a variety of requests in a changing government environment while managing multiple projects and supervising faculty, staff, and students.
The Strategic Management and Organizational Effectiveness Unit Manager role is a leadership position at the Institute of Government.
